The arrival of LeBron James drastically accelerated expectations in Los Angeles.

In 2019, Laker supporters are expecting the team to have a winning shot every single night and (at least) return to the playoffs. Though the West is stacked, it isn’t far-fetched for LA to end up w/ a top 4-7 seed in the conference.

But it won’t happen unless their young talent maintains consistency all year long. In year 3, Brandon Ingram is counted on to make a(nother)* scoring leap - perhaps he can become LAL’s second leading scorer?

Thru a few preseason games, BI’s looked more confident & in control than ever. His specialties as a bucket-getter are expanding - already capable driving & finishing past opponents, Ingram’s starting to mix in more jumpers off the dribble + recognizes what’s the best avenue to score without overthinking.

Last night v. SAC, Ingram replaced a resting Rajon Rondo at PG and produced a huge night - 31!, 9 boards, 3 dimes & 3 steals. Ingram’s willingness & comfortably as a primary ball-handler is very encouraging - his emergence as a playmaker gives the Lakers yet another shot creator to feature. And as a 6’9 finisher, he’s a great fit filling the lane and scoring on the run.

Ingram’s talent is undeniable - developing a habit of consistent, starring performances is a main goal this season.
